What is the Emergent Church?

When you say Emergent Church, are you referring to the Dan Kimball movement (the emergeny church) or something else?
If your talking about the emergeny church I can add some clarity or insight, perhaps. But if you meaning the emergent church as something different than i would have to study it.
We are talking about the movement Kimball is a part of.
I have a few books on the subject and i have read most of them. Ask some specific questions and I might be able to say something. Our church right now is slowly tranisitioning into an emergeny church philosophy (emphasize SLOWLY). I think most of Dan Kimball’s thinking stems from the different mindset from our gen-xers and younger crowd compared to the traditional church setting and thinking. Emergeny Church, i believe is focused on two things: pragmatics (of how church should operate or run)and relationships (between God and man as well as man to man relationships). The second issue, relationship building process, would included the sociological issues the some have suggested, but that is a means to the end not the focus.
