I don’t know how many of you know who Joel Osteen is and his “health, wealth, prosperity gospel.” But I found this video at FIDE-O in which someone comments on one of Osteen’s sermons. It is kinda funny, yet kinda sad. Pay particular attention to the verse cited on the screen and compare it with your own. You might be very shocked to see what it says.
Joel Osteen, the comedian?

I think it was two years ago that someone gave me his book for Christmas. It was very interesting… as I opened the gift, I could see the excitement on her eyes, yet, she could see my disappointment..
I didn’t read the book. I debated whether I should. Eventually, I put it in the recycling bin…
Somebody get that man a copy of 2nd Corinthians!
My favorite part is at 1:03 where he says that we need to know who we are and the commentary says: “We are sinners…”
Good link, I am a fan of the Fide-O guys…some how I missed this though. This is the standard shift in the mega church movement. When, in this case if the preacher talks about sin it is never NEVER verticle…sin is only bade because of it’s horizonatal this worldly effects.
bade=bad
I hear you Bob (whats this, Honzo and Bob agreeing?!)
Sin definitely has both vertical and horizontal effects
Honzo,
Just remember that if you slander me I might sue you. Even so I am a Christian and you are too. I will sue you if you dis me.
