Theology Weekend in C-MO Feb 1-3, 2008
Hank February 9th, 2008
The audio from the Theology Weekend is up at the Karis Blog. Dr. Tom Schreiner from Souther Baptist Theological Seminary spoke on the person and work of Jesus. I ended up only going to the Friday event with Honzo and JR. We had good times of fellowship before, during, and after. Check it out here.
It pained me to watch Dr. Schreiner out-debated by the Muslim scholar, who did a fantastic job.
Me too. I am going to listen to the sermon and lecture this week and see if he does a better job than he did on Friday. Does anyone know which intersection is on the blog homepage?
So I listened to the audio and I think that in the "debate" during the Friday-night session, Schreiner made a methodological error in trying to respond to too much at one time instead of picking just a couple of objections and giving real substantive responses to the objections. I got the impression that he could really handle himself better than what he showed.
I’ll have to check that out then. I’m pretty sad - if he would’ve spent some time on Substitutionary Atonement and the nature of the Trinity.
Oh well…
