About
Honzo March 26th, 2007
A place to hash-out Christian Theology.
The primary goal of this site is to invite together Christians from all over the spectrum of Christ-lovers and get to know where the others are coming from. It is a place where all are free to articulate their way of viewing the Christian framework.
Secondarily, this site serves as a launching pad for the mashing together of these frameworks, dripping the acid of reason and scripture with the hope of finding better ways to view God, humans, and the interplay between it all.

Great Work with the new look. It looks very clean. The banner is inviting, and the font is easy to read.
Edgar.
Thanks, I am taking the excellent feedback that you and Bob gave me and trying to incorporate it into the site design. Bad thing about me is that I am a tinkerer. I have gone through about 4 site designs before settling on this one and then modifying it. Glad to know that it is ascetically pleasing.
Hi guys,
I never realized you had links to these resources:
* Main Page - Theopedia
* StudyLight.org
* The Spurgeon Archive
We recently had some issues with WikiPedia and are not too crazy about it. We’ll check these sites more often.
What happened with Wikipedia, I wonder.
I finally added you to my RSS Subscriptions. I don’t know why it took me so long.
Did you grab both the comments and post feeds? Some of our best stuff comes in the comments.
Albert Mohler? Seriously?

He has influence. I link to him because, even though I don’t like him nor his theology, he does influence a lot of people.
Love him or hate him, Lost Fox, this man is the president of the most prominent seminary in the largest (debatable to say the least) protestant denomination in America (if not the world–I don’t really know), the Southern Baptist Convention. He was about to become the convention president until surgery put an end to it. Many in the SBC look to him for the traditional conservative evangelical perspective on contemporary events. To stay up on those issues from that perspective it might be good to see what he says and get a feel for one part of Christendom–namely the SBC. I think it is an excellent link, even though I bet many authors here might not like what the guy has to say.
First, having just fould this site (link to a link to a link…), I am going to assume that Hank and Honzo are two different folks. I understand where you both are coming from, and certainly agree with including cross-links to people of other persuasions. In fact, that’s admirable. I also understand the promient role he plays. (Personally, even. I was newly enrolled at Southern when he took over and they “cleaned house”). I guess, I’m just a little surprised at his inclusion as a theologian of any real import.
First, having just found this site (link to a link to a link…), I am going to assume that Hank and Honzo are two different folks. I understand where you both are coming from and certainly agree with including cross-links to people of other theo. persuasions. In fact, that’s admirable in my book. I also understand the prominent role Mohler plays. (Personally, even. I was newly enrolled at Southern when he took over and “cleaned house”). I guess, I’m just a little surprised at his inclusion as a theologian of any real import. In any event, his idiocy will not be held against you (at least not Hank, or was it Honzo?).
Do we have any sound (or at least valid) arguments against the theological perspectives of Al Mohler, or are we smitten with insulting him? If there isn’t any (even though I am sure there is), it would do us well to refrain from calling him an idiot, for that is not only un-Christlike, but it is just intellectually lazy.
Confer my post on a quote from Plantinga: “Alvin Plantinga and the Definition of a Fundamentalist.”
Travis,
Have you ever listened to his radio show? The three or four times I have listened it was terrible. Not only was their idiot naming coming forth from his mouth, but along with it was all manner of false reprentation and bad argumentation.
I don’t know if I would call him an idiot. But I don’t look to him for guidence because of what he has revealed himself to be on his radio show. Now, while I am joining a Baptist church this weekend, I haven’t been one since I was 10 or so (whatever age a person is when they are in 6th grade), and as a result of this, I have been largely oblivious to his existence, besides other people who are baptists mentioning him. From what I have seen, I am largely unimpressed with his theological, reasoning, and rhetorical skills.
a) wow, does Honzo ever like the comma splice?
b) Lost Fox - Hank is Henry Thomas Imler (with red hair) and Honzo is his cousin Henry Michael Imler (with red hair). It is confusing, I am sorry!
I was about to do the "I’m Henry Imler with red hair" bit until you did it. Beat me to the punch.
